Fareyhas OOTD
It's been a while since my last post, I've been so caught up with life! but here is a quick post on Fareyhas outfit the other day.
This XO hoodie from BeauLoves is everything! Most of the items from this brand are unisex and I love the neutral colours and simple prints. I purchased mine through OHHAPPYFRY through their sale. Alot of different shops sell BeauLoves and usually have their own promotional offers, so it's worth googling!
Here, Fareyha is wearing a size 5 (she's two) and wearing it as a dress...

Ripped Baby Jeans DIY
Ripped/distressed jeans is 'high fashion' these days so why not create the look for your little one? This is a guide on how I do Fareyhas jeans, you can purchase professional distressed baby jeans and they are worth it (I have a few, link to those shops are at the end) but if you want to save a little money or just NEED some ASAP then here is a guide on how to create the look...
Make sure the 2 cuts that you make are lined together like this, it is your choice if you want a big gap or small...
After you have made the cuts, slightly pull the rips. This will help bring out the first few threads. Now, with a tweezer start on the side with the 2 lines and pull out the vertical threads between the 2 cuts. Like this,
Pull each thread one by one (or 2/3) with the tweezer, it doesn't matter if you feel you've pulled other threads, it will just give a more distressed look
After one side is done, the other side is very simple.
Pull each side of the rips and stretch it out. With the tweezers, very lightly pull the threads that are running horizontally, just a few threads. You can stop here but if you want them even more distressed just make a few more cuts.
Then the last part, put them in the wash/dryer, the more you wash/dry them, the better they look!
Here is an example of some white jeans that I did. These are slightly more distressed, light blue jeans look amazing too!

What you need to know about a Cakesmash Photoshoot
Cake smash photo shoots are huge right now, and I love them! Getting messy on the other hand didn’t impress Fareyha. She enjoyed eating the cake but didn’t get a single thing around her face, hair or clothes. I should be proud right? But I still hoped she would get messy! Anyway, I learned a lot from my experience of planning a cake smash. So here are a few tips.
First of all you want to think of themes.
What colours you want to use etc. I used grey because that was the colour of
her skirt. You can make it as fancy or as simple as you like, adding balloons,
garlands and signs. I usually prefer a white backdrop but coloured works well
too.
What your child will be wearing. Be
prepared for them to get really messy. Bring an extra outfit for them to change
into afterwards
Make sure you think of times and fit it in
when you know your baby is well rested, you don’t want a tired baby in pictures
it will show!
Cake! Don’t
bring the cake straight from the fridge, a room temperature cake smashes best,
plus cold/hard icing could make it difficult for the baby to smash and they may
loose interest so frosting and buttercream is best. Bring extra sprinkles etc.
And have a cutter with you just incase they need help! (like Fareyha did) Vanilla cakes always look best and are recommended. Try to avoid chocolate and
red icing. You can use different coloured icing and trims but keep it simple.
Even a plain white cake with sprinkles will do just fine!
What I did
I shop bought my cake. I bought 3 and
stacked them on top of one another. I then covered the 3 cakes with buttercream
and piped roses all around the cake using a wilton 2d nozzle and voilĂ !
The only
thing though, I had a white backdrop so I felt like the cake was a little
washed out, what do you guys think?
And finally, we had a professional studio for the shoot because we had a voucher. However, you could easily plan a cake smash at home or in the park (depending on weather). Just have all your cleaning equipment ready and you're good to go!
I actually might make this into a regular thing birthday or no birthday!

Royal meets Winter Wonderland Birthday
So it's been a while since Fareyha turned the big ONE so I thought to share her day and some of the the ideas I had around her party. As hectic as it was, it was a very bittersweet time (I'm sure all mothers can relate). I was proud to watch her achieve so much, yet sad that with each day she's gaining more independence she is 'needing' me less (selfish, I know). I'm so excited to continue on her journey and I'm looking forward to her showing me more about herself. Zillion emotions all at once equals to, motherhood.
First of all, her theme was ROYAL Princess meets Winter ONEderland (believe me it changed a thousand times). I came across some beautiful handcrafted invites on ETSY. They were basically what her whole day was around. Because they were handmade, adjustments were made according to what I wanted (because lets admit, it's really about us). We had a guestbook for everyone to write a message for Fareyha, even her very young cousins just drew pictures! Thought it would be something nice for her to look back on. We customised the party boxes ourselves with hand prints and glitter which was a fun activity for us to do. I will try to recreate the cakepops I made and add them in another blog, didn't even get any pictures of them as I was running around like a headless chicken! Anyway, here are a few pictures from her day, hope you like and get inspired.
Note: the edges of the skirt look rough because the picture was taken after her party.
